Contact the college or university you are interested in and inquire about their transfer credit policy. Ask them about the number of transfer credits they accept; every school has a different policy regarding transfer credit. Most colleges accept courses with a final grade of C or higher.
Fill out the college application. The application will require information about the college or university you previously attended. Attach any supplemental documents that the school requests.
Request your official transcripts from your previous college. The college you are applying to will request an official transcript to further determine which credits can be transferred. The college you attended will send your transcript directly to the new school.
Obtain a written reference from the nursing school director at the college you attended. You also need to obtain a course description of every course you have taken. Course descriptions can be found in the course catalog.
Work with your admissions counselor. Once you have been accepted, the counselor will help to successfully transfer your credits. In most cases the science courses from your previous college have a 5-year limit for transfer. The general courses you have taken usually have no limit and can be transferred at any time.
