Register for your free account. Follow the steps through the registration process to receive your SAT scores.
Click on "Discover My SAT Online Score Report" once inside your account.
Navigate to the "Compare Your Score" page of the report. The page will compare your score on each section of the test to local students and students nationwide. There is a report for math, critical reading and for writing.
Look at your critical reading, math or writing percentile for the nation. Percentile will be at the top of the page report. The higher your percentile is, the better your score. For example, if you are in the 97th percentile for math, then you scored higher than 97 percent of students in last year's graduating class throughout the nation.
Compare your average score to the national average. National average will be underneath the percentile score. For example, if your score is 450 on critical reading, and the average score is 530, then you are below the national average.
Compare your scores for math, critical reading and for writing to the national SAT scores.
