How to Become a Rad Tech

A radiologic technologist or radiologic technician is sometimes referred to as a rad tech. The radiologic tech follows physician orders and prepares patients for the procedures. Techs are responsible for operating radiology equipment and taking high quality X-rays so that medical staff can properly diagnose medical problems and treat patients. A tad tech can specialize in a specific area of interest and perform mammograms, ultrasounds, CT scans or MRIs. Educational requirements vary depending on what specific field you choose. Each state's requirements vary so be sure to check with the states health board.
