Just like a student leaving a conventional high school program, you will have to submit the results of either an SAT or an ACT test, which are college aptitude tests that assess knowledge and predict success in a college environment. Just because you didn't go to a conventional high school doesn't mean you can't get into college as a result. If your SAT or ACT test scores are high enough to meet the entry criteria set by the school, you shouldn't have a problem getting in.
It will also help if you have several letters of recommendation, either written by someone who taught you before you were home schooled, or by someone who has knowledge of your academic abilities. A letter of reference is required by many colleges anyway, so you will want to get the best reference letters you can before applying to the school of your choice.
All colleges require proof of your academic history and extracurricular activities. These may include your class ranking (estimated against the school that you would have attended had you not been home schooled) as well as any other academic progress or performance reports that you have available to you.
Like any other student, you will need to fill out a complete college application that details your extracurricular activities and provides other relevant information. You will also need to complete any essays required by the school. Your application helps you demonstrate that you are well educated and ready to compete on the same level as any other student. Therefore, you will want to make sure it is well written and free of errors.
