Applicants must submit records of standardized testing. Spelman College accepts both the ACT and SAT I.

Prospective students are required to submit their official high school transcripts in sealed envelopes, sent directly from their high schools.

Spelman College requires two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher and another from a high school counselor. Recommendation forms can be found on the Spelman College admissions website.
Spelman College asks applicants to submit a personal essay of 500 to 1,000 words. The essay prompt changes each year and is available on the admissions website.
In 2010, Spelman College charged a non-refundable $35 paper application fee or a $25 online application fee.
