Candidates in Madhya Pradesh hoping to attend any of India's medical or dental institutions turn to the APDMC for registration. Each state of India designates an authority for administration of the All-India Dental and Medical Admission Test and the APDMC was awarded that role for Madhya Pradesh. Students can visit the association's website to review the criteria for their testing year which includes units in chemistry, biology and other life sciences. They can also initiate the application process online.
The APDMC works to create a standard of medical and dental education for private schools throughout the state. While India has guidelines as to what an education must include to result in a medical or dental degree, the APDMC tries to set a higher bar and ensure that there's consistency between the schools.
New private medical schools seek membership in APDMC as a form of accreditation. Although the association's blessing is not required for a college to operate, membership is a respected hallmark that shows a school meets standards and is endorsed by the educational and medical community of the Madhya Pradesh region. Similar to accreditation in America, schools have to show the association their curricula, resources and a list of qualified faculty for inspection as part of the application process.
APDMC encourages member schools to stay abreast of medical advancements and changes. It facilitates changes to curricula to reflect new findings in medicine and to ensure member schools continue to give the best possible education. Educators and medical professionals participate in meetings, conferences and events to discuss ideas and help direct dental and medical education in the region.
