Metropolitan Community Colleges in Kansas City, Missouri

Metropolitan Community College has five campuses in the Greater Kansas City, Mo., area. Only three campuses, however, are located in Kansas City proper--the other two are in the cities of Lees Summit and Independence. In addition to the college having three prime locations conveniently dispersed throughout the city, each campus is unique in the courses of study offered ranging from health, to technology, to the arts.
  1. Business and Technology Campus

    • The Business and Technology campus is known for its solid technical education programs, along with its business services focus. The campus serves thousands of students, both those seeking credit and non-credit courses. The campus' technology programs run the gamut from engineering to networking to welding. You might have peace of mind knowing that once you earn your certificate or associate's degree, finding employment could be easier being that the campus has strong partnerships with employers, such as Harley-Davidson and Honeywell.

    Maple Woods Campus

    • Serving the Northland area, more than 5,400 students get a start at the Maple Woods campus. The campus has a strong yet broad focus on general education courses, which includes humanities, math, science and social studies. Additionally, the campus boasts as having the "the Midwest's finest veterinary technology program." The campus draws in many community events, performances, and seminars with its worldly and learned atmosphere. The campus also makes an effort to reach out to non-traditional students, such as those beyond their early 20s in age.

    Penn Valley Campus

    • Priding itself as the most diverse and global campus in the MCC system, nearly 6000 students enroll every fall. Penn Valley has a strong demand for its students graduating from health programs. A student graduating from the strong arts programs may find himself well prepared to work in his profession. The Penn Valley campus has divisions ranging from applied language, to nursing, to child growth and development.
