Weber State University offers two bachelor's degrees aimed at launching a graduate's career in forensic science. Students who are criminal justice majors can choose two forensic science emphases: forensic science laboratory and forensic science investigation. The investigation route is aimed at students who want to work in a police force capacity out in the field. Students who take the laboratory route must double major in a science-related degree such as zoology, chemistry or microbiology.

Southern Utah University does not offer a bachelor's degree in forensic science. Its master's forensic science program requires applicants to have a bachelor's in information systems, chemistry, biology, computer science or criminal justice. Because forensic science covers a broad range of topics, SUU's MS in forensic science offers courses taught in departments such as criminal justice, biology and computer science. As of early 2010, SUU announced that it has put on hold accepting new applicants for its MS in forensic science program.
