Houston, Texas is the fourth most populated city in America, with 2.2 million residents. The economy of the city is driven largely by the energy, health care and transportation sectors. This economic base has made Houston home to the second-most Fortune 500 company headquarters in the United States. To prepare students to enter this strong workforce, several community colleges are based in the area.
  1. Universal Technical Institute

    • The Universal Technical Institute in Houston is focused on providing automotive education for students. Technical programs are available for cars, motorcycles and trucks. Within the automotive field, students can choose to target their studies to gasoline, diesel or collision specialties.

    American InterContinental University

    • American InterContinental University offers several different degree programs designed for students who wish to enter the workforce quickly.     Texas School of Business

    • The Texas School of Business has four separate campus locations around the city of Houston, and is intended to prepare students for careers in business, health, and computer fields. Texas School of Business Curriculum is designed to be as practical as possible, in order to give students a realistic view of how business works.

      The North and South campuses are situated on opposite ends of Houston. At these two locations, Allied Health, Criminal Justice and Information Technology programs are available. Two smaller campuses are located on the East and West ends of the city, offering Allied Health and Information Technology. Financial assistance is available for students who can demonstrate need.
