Weber State University offers associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, and the largest undergraduate selection of majors in the state (more than 215). While the school is a four-year university, it also functions as a community college for area residents, offering open enrollment and many two-year, career-preparatory programs as well as a large continuing education division that focuses on lifelong learning for community members. Most of the school's two-year programs are in the areas of applied technology and health professions, including engineering technology, nursing and radiologic science.

The OWATC has been offering career training for more than 35 years and is a campus of the Utah College of Applied Technology, a public institution of higher education. The school prides itself on a practical approach to education and has more than 300 technical-skills courses in a wide range of career categories, including barbering and cosmetology, real estate, media design technology and welding. It is an open-entry, open-exit school where graduation is based on competency and subject mastery.

The DATC, another campus of the Utah College of Applied Technology, is in Kaysville, 17 miles south of Ogden along Interstate 15. Its mission is to serve the residents of Utah's Davis and Morgan counties by offering technical and career-preparatory education. Like the OWATC, the school is open-entry and -exit. Its course offerings are divided among seven schools: business, construction, health professions, information technology, manufacturing, service professions and transportation.
