    • The highly-regarded Savannah College of Art and Design's Atlanta campus gives students the opportunity to earn a SCAD degree in an urban environment. The school, based in Savannah, offers a full range of arts education. The Atlanta location is situated close to the High Museum of Art and the Woodruff Arts Center.

      In addition to traditional campus facilities, the school has a state-of-the-art digital media center, a sculpture studio and residence halls. Undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered as well as professional certificate programs. Students can choose from 23 fields of concentration including traditional fine arts disciplines like painting and sculpture as well as newer areas of study like interactive design and digital photography.

    Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design

    • The Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University offers undergraduate and graduate-level degrees in nine studio concentrations: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, textiles, interior design, ceramics and printmaking. The doctoral program is for artists and art educators who want to engage in "critical analyses of existing ideas about art and art history." Located in the heart of downtown, the school has two art galleries that showcase local and international artists and the works of students and faculty.

    Emory Visual Arts

    • The Visual Arts Department at the private Emory University offers students an education combining art history and studio art. It grants a joint degree in partnership with the school's art history department and a minor in visual arts. Students can concentrate in drawing and painting; photography; film and video; photography; ceramics; or sculpture. The school has a gallery that shows five to seven shows per year, including a student exhibition.

    Agnes Scott Art Department

    • Agnes Scott is a small, private and highly selective women's college in the Atlanta area with a wealth of resources for its small student body. Studio art students in the school have use of the Dana Fine Arts Building, which includes a gallery, student studios, a lecture hall and an auditorium. The gallery hosts several shows per year including at least one student exhibition.

      Students are encouraged to participate in study abroad programs led by school's faculty. The school emphasizes a foundation in art history, and all majors must take a two-semester-long art history course. For students interested in architecture, Agnes Scott offers a combined Bachelor of Arts/Master of Architecture degree in partnership with Washington University in Saint Louis.
