Masters Programs in Gifted Education

Gifted education programs provide expertise and preparation for educators who handle gifted and talented learners. Each state requires an endorsement for an individual to practice in gifted education, and the requirements vary by state. While no accredited programs exist for master's degrees in gifted education, the National Association for Gifted Children and the Association for the Gifted have collaborated on program standards with many institutions. Most programs offer gifted education as an emphasis or speciality under the special education heading.
