Undergraduate programs offered by UNLV include a Counselor of Education involving a major in human services and a minor in one of four areas including addictions prevention, addictions treatment, compulsive gambling or human services; a Curriculum & Instruction degree in elementary or secondary education; a degree of Education Leadership with an emphasis on secondary or post-secondary workforce education and development and a degree of Educational Psychology. The Department of Special Education and Early Childhood Education offers degrees in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Services Counseling, Physical Education, Secondary Education, Special Education and Workforce Education with minors in more than eight areas.
Graduate programs offered by UNLV include a Master of Science of Counselor Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a Master of Education in School Counseling; a variety of Master of Science of Curriculum and Instruction in specific subject fields such as English, mathematics, science and social studies; a Master of Educational Leadership in PK-12, higher education or workforce education; a Master of Educational Psychology and a Master of Science, a Master of Education or a Specialist in Education in Special Education.
UNLV offers doctoral programs in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership including PK-12, higher education, workforce education and development or student services; Educational Psychology, Learning and Technology, Special Education and Early Childhood and Sports Eduction Leadership. Students enrolling in any of the UNLV's doctoral programs must meet special residency requirements, maintain a 3.0 GPA and provide three letters of recommendation along with a number of other requirements.
UNLV offers certification programs in counseling including an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Addictions Studies, an Advanced Graduate Community Mental Health Counseling Certificate or an Advanced Graduate Rehabilitation Counseling Certificate. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a Graduate Licensure Program that is a bridge between a bachelor and master's degree program. The schools offers a variety of special education and instructional licenses to aides and other non-degree holding educational workers.
