Manchester University in northwest England offers the BSc in Psychology, a three-year full-time course in the Department of Psychological Sciences. Two hundred fifty students are admitted into the course each year. During the first two years, students examine the central topics of psychology; the final year allows students to specialize and submit a research project in the area of their choice.

University of Glasgow's Department of Psychology is ranked the seventh top research department in the United Kingdom. The National Student Survey 2009 ranked the department joint third of all U.K. psychology departments, with a student satisfaction rate of 96 percent. At University of Glasgow, psychology can be studied in either in the science, arts or law, business and social science faculty. The honours degree programs require four years of full-time study.

The Open University is the United Kingdom's only university dedicated to distance learning, with the majority of students choosing part-time study to fit around work or family commitments. The OU recommends that those wishing to study psychology start with the introducing the social sciences course before moving on to discovering psychology. Thereafter there are many options including degree programs in psychology, computing with psychological studies, criminology and psychological studies and philosophy and psychological studies. There are also the options of a short course with no exams, a diploma course or a postgraduate conversion course.
