A Masters in Business Administration, or MBA, allows students to pursue careers in human resources, accounting, operations management and marketing. Although most universities offer MBA programs, Harvard University, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are considered the top three MBA programs, according to a 2010 US News ranking.

    • The Harvard Business School at Harvard University, located in Boston, Massachusetts, was ranked the top MBA program in the country by US News. Students in this program are taught case-method learning, which places challenging business decisions in the hands of students. Students also participate in field studies, local immersion projects and internships. The average annual tuition is $46,150 for full-time students, and the program has 1,837 full-time graduate business students.

    Stanford University

    • Stanford University, located in Stanford, California, features the second-best MBA program, according to US News. This private two-year residential program emphasizes tailored student curricula, support from faculty and career advisers, and access to Stanford University's joint-programs, courses and libraries. Students learn from case studies, global trips, role-playing activities and research opportunities. The school's annual tuition is approximately $51,321 and there are about 765 graduate business students enrolled each year.

    Massachusetts Institute of Technology

    • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Business was ranked the third-best MBA program in the country, according to a 2010 US News finding. This program, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, emphasizes case studying learning, hands-on laboratory studies, and interaction with community and global leaders. Students learn and study in the institute's new E62, a 215,000-square foot structure that is innovative and sustainable. The program has about 790 students enrolled each year, and full-time tuition costs approximately $48,650.
