Cleveland State University is a public university located in the heart of metropolitan Cleveland, near the shores of Lake Erie. The CSU School of Nursing offer two accelerated, fully accredited nursing programs. One is for students who have a bachelor's degree in another field and requires four semesters to complete. The other program is for registered nurses with an associate degree and takes three semesters to complete. Course work in the four-semester option includes pharmacology, health assessment pathophysiology and primary preventive strategies for community and home care. Course work in the RN option includes computer competency, nursing research and health of home dwelling elders. Graduates of either option will be awarded a bachelor's degree in nursing. Students with a bachelor's degree in another field who graduate from this program will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) national certification exam to become a licensed registered nurse.

Ursuline College is a private university in eastern Cleveland that offers two accelerated nursing programs. These programs are accredited and will lead to a bachelor's degree in nursing. The two options are for students who hold a bachelor's degree in another field and licensed registered nurses. The first option, for those who hold a B.S. in another field, is a 15-month program that will qualify graduates to take the NCLEX-RN to become a licensed RN. Areas of study with this option include anatomy and physiology, clinical concepts and skills, health assessment and nursing research. The RN option awards college credit for work experience and for associate degree course work. The time it take to complete this program is variable, but it generally requires less than a year. Course work in the RN-to-BSN program includes professional nursing, advanced concepts, world cultures and nursing research.

Case Western Reserve University is a private university located in Cleveland's University Circle, just east of downtown. CWRU's accelerated nursing program is for RNs only. The program is fully accredited and graduates are awarded a bachelor's degree in nursing. Classes in this program includes dynamics of nursing practice management, new applications of nursing practice management, nursing research and nursing in the community. This is a three-semester program and previous college credit is awarded. An RN license is required for admittance to this program.
