Ultrasound Technician Programs in Virginia

Ultrasound technicians are also known as sonographers or vascular technologists. Their job involves helping diagnose medical conditions through high frequency sound waves. This technique, called ultrasound, is used to get images inside the body of tissue, organs and blood flow in the heart, breasts, abdomen, prostate and other areas. Ultrasound technicians study diagnostic medical sonography and must be trained for two or more years. There are several schools offering this training in the Virginia area.
