Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology offers a graduate-level certificate in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. The program consists of one year of study at the school's Ontario location. Participants will gain instruction through labs, clinicals and classroom instruction. The program does not require its students to have previous experience with imaging techniques, but those with a background in the field are considered for admission before others. The college admits one class per year, for a total of 45 students. Full-time study, only, is required, consisting of two 12-week semesters.

Mainz Ultrasound provides courses for those already in the field of medicine, international medical degree holders and current ultrasound specialists. Instruction focuses on anatomy, imaging skills and assessment skills-focusing on the procedures performed in the United States and Canada. Students attend courses on Wednesday and Friday, as well as the weekend. Course options include Gynecology and Obstetrics, Abdomen and Small Parts and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. Upon completion, students receive a certificate noting their involvement in the program. Courses are offered at the center's training location in Mississaugua, Ontario.

The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences offers a graduate diploma in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound. The program allows for full-time study, only, and involves instruction in determining issues related to the stomach, heart, and expectant mothers. Students study for five semesters, performing laboratory and clinical revolutions. Potential students must hold a bachelor's degree, with an overall grade point average of no less than a "B-." The student's course history must include in anatomy and physiology, completed with no less than a "C-." The program is also open to those employed in health care--also with no less than a three year degree--currently registered in the medical profession. West Coast Ultrasound Institute, Ontario campus, offers a program in Pediatric Cardiac Ultrasound and Congenital Heart Disease. The program includes the anatomy and physiology of the heart, as well as methods used in utilizing ultrasound in relation to pediatric heart issues. Students study for nine months, focusing on three components. Areas of concentration include scanning and imaging principles in the first section, evaluation techniques in the second and overall evaluation techniques in the third. Instruction and lab work allows for those employed during the week to participate, as they are held on weekends. Applicants must hold a high school or college-level degree, present a writing sample and participate in an interview process. Students must also prove that an Adult Echocardiography program has been completed and sit for another interview with a professor in the curriculum.
