Front Range Community College has a Boulder County campus, located in nearby Longmont. It is home to more than 3,000 students and works closely with the University of Colorado at Boulder to make transitions for students transferring credits as seamless as possible. It is noted for its art department and biomedical technical training. The Westminster campus of FRCC is also close by, approximately 20 miles from Boulder.
Red Rocks Community College's main campus is in Lakewood, approximately 30 miles from Boulder. Red Rocks has more than 150 majors and 14,000 students, making it suitable for those who want exposure to a larger student body, and features an AA/AS general education transfer program accepted by every four-year college and university in Colorado.
Located less than 25 miles from Boulder, Community College of Denver is another choice for Boulder-area students. With more than 125 degree programs and online courses available, CCD is excellent for students who want a mix of in-person and online classes.
Arapahoe Community College has fewer degree programs than the other listed community colleges, but it is an open-door academic institution, not requiring a high school diploma or GED to enroll in classes. It offers GED courses and tests to encourage those without high school diplomas to continue their education at ACC.
