College programs in educational psychology prepare students for jobs that encompass human development, interpersonal relationships, learning, evaluation and assessment. Many traditional and online schools offer bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in educational psychology. Students may often specialize or get a more general degree.

    • Mississippi State University in Starkville offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in educational psychology. The undergraduate degree consists of 48 hours of general education courses, 43 hours in educational psychology and 18 to 24 hours in a concentration area such as corrections, family studies or counselor. The master's degree adds nine more courses plus a thesis (or two more courses) and a comprehensive exam. The university awards a doctorate for 120 hours beyond the bachelor's degree.     University of North Texas

    • The University of North Texas in Denton also offers all three levels of degrees in educational psychology. Students specialize in various areas within the program such as family studies, diagnostician, school psychology, research and development, emotional/behavioral disorders and autism. The bachelor's degree requires 120 credit hours, the master's degree requires an additional 36 hours and the doctorate requires 90 hours beyond the bachelor's degree. It also includes a dissertation. Full-time undergraduate students pay approximately $3,800 per semester, and graduate costs run about $4,500 as of 2011.

    University of Arizona

    • Most institutions offer educational psychology as a graduate degree only, as is the case with the University of Arizona in Tucson. UA expects students to tailor their educational experiences whether they are aiming for the master's degree or doctoral degree, supplementing regular classroom instruction with research and real-life opportunities. Individual advisers help student plan their programs of study and find appropriate supplementary activities. A resident can expect to pay about $9,000 per year for the graduate programs as of 2011.

    Capella University Online

    • Students seeking on online degree may want to look at Capella University Online. Capella offers an master's degree in educational psychology. Graduates have a broad base of knowledge to prepare them for jobs as instructors, researchers or training specialists. General psychology courses mixed with research, instructional strategies and data courses along with a project make up the degree program, for a total of 65 quarter credits required. Capella charges $408 per credit for this program as of early 2011.
