Kokomo, Indiana is located about 90 minutes north of Indianapolis and little more than an hour from Fort Wayne and Lafayette. The city is home to more than 46,000 residents as of the 2000 census. Local attractions include the Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center and Old Ben, a stuffed steer, and the Kokomo Rib Fest and Taste of Kokomo Festival are among the area's annual events. Despite its small town feel, Kokomo is home to several colleges and technical schools.
