Ivy Tech Community College, the largest public post-secondary institution in Indiana, operates 23 campuses throughout the state. The Central Indiana campus in Indianapolis is about an hour's drive southeast of Crawfordsville. Tracing its roots to 1963 and the Indiana Vocational Technical College, the Central Indiana campus was established in 1969. Popular programs include business administration, liberal arts, early childhood education, hospitality, computer information systems and criminal justice.
Since 2005, Ivy Tech Community College has been Indiana's official community college. Statewide, the college confers certificates and associate's degrees in more than 150 areas of study. The college's Lafayette campus is about 30 miles north of Crawfordsville. Students at the campus can complete associate's and certificate programs in the college's schools of applied science and engineering technology, liberal arts and sciences, nursing, business, education, health sciences, public and social services, and technology.
Open since 1968, the Ivy Tech Community College Wabash Valley includes a campus in Greencastle, the main campus and Center for Workforce Development in Terre Haute, the Ivy Tech Community College Cooperative in Switz City and other regional centers. The Greencastle campus is about 31 miles south of Crawfordsville. Students can pursue degree programs in business administration, computer information systems and nursing at the Greencastle campus.
Danville Area Community College is about a 50-minute drive west of Crawfordsville. The public two-year college was established in 1946 as an extension center of the University of Illinois. It has about 100 programs, and confers associate's in art and science for its transfer programs and associate's in applied science degrees for its career programs. Courses are offered in math and science, liberal arts, and business and technology. Danville also features certificate and adult education programs.
