Montrose, Colorado, community colleges offer a variety of associate degrees, technical programs and certificate programs. Students can complete associate degree programs in two years, and many certificate programs can be completed in three to nine months, depending on the trade. Some Montrose community colleges offer online community life-learning, non-credit courses. Students reside on or off campus, depending on the school. Programs offered include those in the automotive, construction, culinary, nursing, real estate broker (pre-licensing), computer design and peace officer (training) fields, as well as many others. Degrees are offered in biology, math, geology, humanities, social sciences, business administration and early childhood education.
  1. Western Colorado Community College

    • Western Colorado Community College (WCCC) is part of the two-year associate's degree program at the Montrose Campus of Mesa State College. WCCC also offers nine-month certificate courses and technical programs. Programs include biology, math, geology, business administration, humanities, computer science, early childhood education (initial licensing), physics, social science, culinary, cosmetology, manicurist, construction, real estate broker (pre-licensing), nursing, public safety, police academy standards and training, technology, EMT, welding technology, wildfire management, transportation and visual communications. The school also offers fee-based community-education lifelong non-credit learning classes. Students can apply for admission online, by mail or in person.     Delta-Montrose Technical College

    • Delta-Montrose Technical College offers career and technical programs that have been approved and accredited by the Colorado Community College System and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). The college offers accredited programs in barber/styling, cosmetology, aesthetician, and manicurist/pedicurist, approved by the Colorado State Board of Barbers/Cosmetologists; emergency medical services, approved by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment; the law enforcement academy; massage therapy, approved by the Colorado State Board of Massage Therapists; nursing aide and practical nursing, approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing; and real estate, approved by the Colorado State Real Estate Commission and Board of Appraisers. The school offers a secondary program to students 16 years or older who have not finished high school. There is also a post-secondary program for students who have completed high school or have a GED. Students are accepted on a first-come basis.

    IntelliTec College

    • Montrose IntelliTec College is a trade school that offers associate's degrees in the fields of automotive technician, medical assistant, and architectural and mechanical drafting, as well as certificates in the fields of dental assistant, massage therapist, and medical coding and transcription.

    Enrollment Requirements

    • General requirements to enroll in a Montrose Community College certificate or degree program include a high school diploma and transcripts or GED, SAT I or ACT test scores, as well as an application for admissions and the associated fee. Other requirements vary depending on the school and program offered. Mesa State and WCCC also offer eligible high school students concurrent enrollment, which allows students to earn college credits while they are still attending high school.
