Water Tech Schools

A water and waste water technician is responsible for monitoring and cleaning water and water systems, and for disposing of waste water, including sewage. These technicians usually work in plants and help with quality control. To pursue a career in this field, you must have special training. Trade schools offer water, waste water and water restoration courses, but individual coursework varies by school.
  1. Aspire Educational Institute and Conference Centre

    • Aspire Educational Institute and Conference Centre offers a water damage restoration technician course, which teaches students how to deal with damage caused by water systems, including sewage. It also helps students understand the effects of water contamination and water loss. The school offers both on-site training at its Kingman, Arizona location, and off-site training. Instructors will come to your place of business and provide training to your workers, even outside the U.S. You can also take classes online.

    Restoration Consultants

    • This Sacramento, California school offers a three-day course on water damage restoration with drying contaminated buildings. You learn how to dry buildings without using chemicals and about the problems that water contamination can cause in buildings and homes, including mold. Only a small number of students (usually about 20) are allowed in each class.

The water and waste water technician class focuses on cleaning water systems and getting rid waste water, especially in industrial and municipal settings. This course prepares you to work in Solano County treatment plants or plants across the country. You can receive either a certificate or an Associate of Science degree. The associate degree requires you to complete 60 units, while you must complete 28.5 units for a certificate.
