Art Schools in the United States

There are many art schools in the United States that offer a variety of degrees. Art Schools offer classes in drawing, illustration, design, media arts, fine arts and many more. Art schools offer certificates, associate's, bachelor's and master degrees. Art school programs may also include undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  1. Graduate and Undergraduate Programs

    • The School of the Art Institute of Chicago offers programs that include nationally accredited undergraduate, graduate and post baccalaureate degrees. This school has selective admission and has studies such as architecture, art therapy, painting and drawing, visual and critical studies.

      California College of the Arts offers 20 undergraduate and graduate majors in fine arts, architecture, design and writing. The Campus in Oakland has undergraduate programs in art. The Campus in San Francisco has graduate programs and undergraduate programs in architecture and design.

    Fine Arts

    • Fine arts include many specialties such as gallery artist, scenic art for films, muralist, commission artist, artisan and more. Watkins College of Art, Design & Film is an award-winning and nationally accredited college. Bachelor of fine art degrees are offered in career fields such as film, graphic design, interior design, photography and fine arts and bachelor of art degree in art.

      The Indiana University of Pennsylvania offers courses such as acting classes, dance classes and private voice classes. A Bachelor of Arts Degree is given upon completion in Interdisciplinary Fine Art and Dance Arts track. Once you're accepted to this school, you need to pass an audition interview before you're accepted into the degree program.

    Media Arts

    • The Art Institute of York, Pennsylvania has Media Art programs that allow you to use your creativity with the technical skills you'll learn. This school offers a Bachelor's Degree in Media Art & Animation. Teaching methods include a hands-on environment with industry related technology and software.

      Drexel's Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design has five graduate degree programs with small classes and hand-on learning. Programs include animation and visual effects, game and art production and web development

    Illustration

    • The Academy of Art University in San Francisco is a school of Illustration. This school offers degrees such as Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and Master of Fine Arts in Illustration. There's also a certificate program and Associate of Arts degree program. Some of the many classes are traditional illustration, digital illustration fantasy illustration and fashion illustration. Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado has Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Art Education in illustrations, painting and sculpture. There's also a Bachelor of Arts Degree available in Children's Books Illustration areas of specialization and many other programs.
