Located in Richmond, Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) has approximately 16,000 students. EKU offers a traditional liberal arts curriculum to its undergraduates. Located just outside of Cincinnati in the Kentucky suburb of Highland Heights, Northern Kentucky University (NKU) has approximately 15,000 students. NKU offers an amazingly diverse array of potential undergraduate majors. Additionally, they offer almost a dozen pre-professional programs in law, medicine, dentistry and others. Additionally, graduate students can earn master's degrees in many subjects or a doctorate in education.
Located in Lexington, this is the largest public college in Kentucky. It has approximately 27,000 students. The university offers a number of liberal arts degrees in addition to pre-professional degrees. Pre-professional programs include majors in medicine, dentistry and optometry. The university prides itself on being one of the nation's major public research universities.
