Ohio State University's main campus in Columbus had more than 56,000 enrolled student in 2010. Established in 1870, the university features five campuses around Ohio. There, students choose from 170 undergraduate majors and over 250 master's, doctoral and professional degrees. Even with the university's high enrollment, about 75 percent of its first-year classes have less than 40 students.
University of Florida, located in Gainsville, was first open as a university in 1906 with 102 students. Today, its enrollment has jumped to more than 50,000 in 2011, making it one of the top five largest universities in the United States. The 2,000-acre campus features 900 buildings, as well as 16 colleges of study. Undergraduates can choose from more than 100 undergraduate majors offered through the school.
