Murray State University, whose full campus is located in Murray, Kentucky, has a full-service regional campus located in Hopkinsville. The Hopkinsville campus offers bachelor's degrees in business administration, computer information systems, education, nursing and social work. It also offers master's degrees in business administration, human development and leadership, information systems, nursing, public administration, school administration, school counseling and teacher leadership. Murray State University also offers online and correspondence courses. To be admitted, students must submit high school transcripts or GED records, as well as an ACT score report.
Founded in 1883, Hopkinsville College of the Bible prepares students to be ministers and missionaries in the Christian faith. It offers a certificate in missions, a diploma in theology and a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies, with minors in Theology and Christian Education. Hopkinsville College of the Bible is focused on preparing students to service as ministers, counselors and religious directors. Classes are available during the day and at night. In addition to a high school diploma, students will be required to provide a reference letter from their pastor to be admitted.
Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Hopkinsville Community College's aim is to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university or for entrance into careers. They offer an Associates of the Arts degree, which requires classes that focus on English, social science and humanities. Associate's degree in science also are available, and focus on math and science, and associates in applied science degrees lead to a career and may not transfer to a bachelor's degree. Popular degree options include nursing, criminal justice, business administration and education. Hopkinsville Community College has a complete student services department, which provides transfer assistance, financial aid assistance and career placement services. There also is a student activities department, which facilitates many different student organizations.
Hopkinsville also has a branch campus of Brown Mackie College, which is accredited to award associate's degrees and diplomas. At the Hopkinsville campus, Brown Mackie College offers business degrees in accounting and business management. They also offer degrees in medical office management and medical assisting, paralegal studies and computer programming degrees. Tuition as of 2011 was $12,768 for diplomas and $25,536 for associate's degrees. Tutoring by faculty members is offered at no additional charge. Brown Mackie College also has a career services office, which helps students seek out employment leads, obtain interviews and obtain part-time employment while completing a degree.
