Beaufort, North Carolina Schools

Beaufort, North Carolina is located on the coast of North Carolina and is the county seat of Carteret Count. It is the third-oldest town in the state. As of 2009 the city was home to 4,309 people, according to the US Census Bureau. The city has two school districts, Carteret County Public Schools and Tiller Schools, and contains eight schools overall.
  1. Pre-School and Educational Day Cares

    • Beaufort, North Carolina has two day cares, two Christian-affiliated schools, and one public elementary schools that offers pre-kindergarten classes. Day care options include the Colony Day Care Center, enrolling 91 students, and Bonnie's Day Care, with 11 students. The two Christian-affiliated schools with pre-school offerings are Ann St. United Methodist Pre-School, a private school affiliated with the United Methodist Church serving 78 students in pre-school level classes, and Beaufort Christian Academy, a private Baptist Church affiliated that offers pre-school as well as higher-grade classes to its 125 students. Beaufort Elementary School is primarily a public elementary school, but it does provide pre-school classes as well.

    Elementary Schools

    • Three schools in Beaufort that offer elementary-level classes. In addition to its preschool offerings, Beaufort Christian Academy also provides elementary-level classes. Beaufort Elementary School offers elementary classes up to the 5th grade to its 504 students. Beaufort Elementary School is the largest elementary school in the area, and their mascot is the Seadog. Tiller School is the only school in the Tiller School System and is a free public charter school, offering kindergarten through fifth grade classes to about 180 students.

    Middle Schools

    • Two schools in Beaufort offer middle school classes to students in the town. The first is the private and Baptist affiliated Beaufort Christian Academy, which offers classes through all of middle school, from the sixth through the eighth grades. The only public middle school in Beaufort is Beaufort Middle School, which offers classes from the sixth to the eighth grade to its 257 students. Beaufort Middle School's mascot is the Charger, and it offers football, girl's and boy's soccer, girl's and boy's golf, boy's and girl's basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, volleyball, baseball, softball and track.

    High Schools

    • There are two schools in the Beaufort area that offer classes to high school students in Beaufort. In addition to other grades, Beaufort Christian Academy offers private high school classes to Beaufort students. The only public high school in Beaufort is East Carteret High School, which is the largest school in the area at 650 students and offers classes from the ninth to the 12th grade. The East Carteret High School mascot is the Mariner, and it offers its students sports such as football, volleyball, boy's and girl's soccer, boy's and girl's tennis, boys and girl's golf, cross country, cheerleading, wrestling, boy's and girl's basketball, track and field, baseball and softball.
