Set up the rating categories. Before it is possible to actually rate a college, it is important to determine what factors to rate. For example, to rate the education you may consider student SAT/ACT scores to get into the college or average GPAs of students attending the college. Select a few rating categories. Rating can include student surveys, staff surveys, statistical facts, social options, sports, religious affiliation or costs of education.
Look up the statistical information for the school. There are websites dedicated to college statistical information, such as CollegeStats.org, which make it easy. Look up the information by searching "Christian Colleges" or the name of the specific college you prefer for the rating. Look for the school GPA statistics, SAT/ACT scores of incoming students and any statistics available regarding extra-curricular activities, such as sports placements. Some categories, such as the religious affiliation or religious options for students, will not have statistics available. When researching the statistics, use any information available for the selected categories.
Take student and staff surveys if preferred. Taking a survey depends on the school and the availability of surveying options. For example, it is possible to take a survey if the Christian college is in the area or there is a way to get an online survey set up and inform the school of the survey. Otherwise, look into the sports options and social events available via the school's website. Make a note of any Christian events that occur often or annually and that might interest potential students. Information about the Christian events or relating to the school's religious affiliation should be noted for the rating. Taking a survey is difficult for anyone who does not live near the college or is not a student or teacher. Anyone who attends the college or lives near the college can request surveys of students or professors by going to the school and asking students or teachers to take the survey.
Look into the focus on spirituality in the school. A Christian school can range from having a Christian affiliation but little focus on student spirituality to having a strong spiritual focus and influence within the school. Schools with a higher spiritual focus usually encourage Christian values and often have classes available for spiritual study or Christian groups.
Tally the information and determine a grading scale for a rating. For example, put together the number of available Christian events, the focus on spirituality, social events, GPA averages, SAT/ACT admissions statistics and any other facts used and determine where the schools sit in relation to each other academically, socially and spiritually. It is important when rating a Christian college to include the school's spiritual emphasis in part of the rating. Order the colleges according to the rating scale.
