    Iowa State

    • Iowa State is listed as one of the best colleges in Iowa for 2010 by The Princeton Review. This college sits on 1,795 acres in Ames, Iowa providing students with ample space to free their minds and expand their education. The 17.5-to-1 student to teacher ratio is still good considering the 23,104 students currently enrolled at Iowa State. As of 2010 the cost for out-of-state tuition is $17,668.

    University of Northern Iowa

    • Founded in 1876, The University of Northern Iowa is located in the city of Cedar Falls, Iowa. As of 2010 Diploma Guide ranks University of Northern Iowa No.4 on its list of colleges in Iowa. University of Northern Iowa offers a wide selection of majors, minors and special programs to its 13,000 students who are looking to receive a college education. Tuition for the 2010-11 school year is between $14,148 and $15,148 for Iowa residents. Those looking to attend University of Northern Iowa from out-of-state are looking at between $22,448 and $23,448.

    Drake University

    • In 1881 Drake University held its first class sessions with just 77 students and one building.
