Make a list of the colleges to which you would like to apply. Visit the schools' websites and find out what materials are required for transfer applicants. Most require transcripts, recommendation letters and test scores, in addition to the application. Print the application forms from the websites, and note the application deadlines.
Fill out the application. Usually, it asks standard demographic questions as well as questions about your academic background.
Send your prospective colleges a copy of your SAT or ACT scores if you've already taken them. Arrange to take them if you haven't done so and if they are required.
Have your community college send an official transcript to your prospective schools. Many colleges also request high school transcripts; get them by contacting your high school's guidance department. There is no guarantee that the credits will transfer; however, most transfer as long as you earned a C or above.
Ask two or three of your community college professors to write you a letter of recommendation. Ask them at least three weeks in advance.
Staple all the required materials together and mail them to your prospective colleges before the deadline.
