How to Transfer Credits at Rutgers University

Rutgers University, the state university of New Jersey, has several campuses located through New Jersey and received accreditation from the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Rutgers generally accepts undergraduate transfer credits from other accredited post-secondary institutions. To request transfer of your credits, you will need to make an appointment with a Rutgers advising center and request an evaluation of transcript report.

Instructions

    • 1

Request a certified copy of your transcript from the school you want transfer the credits from. You generally request transcripts from the school's registrars office and you normally have to pay a fee when requesting a transcript.

    • 2

Schedule an appointment at a Rutgers University advising center at the Rutgers campus you attend. You can request an appointment in person or by calling the advising center.

    • 3

Go to your scheduled appointment at the advising center. Bring a copy of your certified transcript from the school where you earned the credits. The adviser will complete a transcript evaluation report and award credits for eligible completed coursework.
