How to Cite a Source From Ebscohost

EBSCOhost is an online informational and reference database used primarily by teachers and researchers writing papers. While it is relatively simple to cite a source in printed format, online media normally requires some specific information so that others can quickly find the information online themselves. Instead of requiring you to scan the entire document for information for a citation, EBSCO has compiled a list of the most common citation styles, already formatted for you, available with a few clicks of the mouse.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull up the EBSCO article you wish to cite for your paper.

    • 2

Click the "Cite" button, located on the right side of the tool bar, to open up a new window with various citation styles, such as American Medical Association (AMA), American Psychological Association (APA) or Chicago/Turabian. Ensure that you select the correct citation style as specified by your institution.

    • 3

Copy and paste the desired citation style into your document.

    • 4

Check spacing and capitalization issues before submitting your paper. Do not take it for granted that EBSCO has formatted the citation correctly.
