The Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE) is a state-of-the-art building development and home to the Pharmacy School of the University of Queensland. As well as facilitating undergraduate programs for school leavers, the main focus of PACE is in the field of continuing research. Here they broadly categorize their research strengths into four groups comprising modelling and simulation, pharmacy education, quality use of medicines and therapeutic targeting. The PACE Centre is very new, completed in 2009 at the cost of AUS$100,000,000. It has the full backing of the Queensland state government, which donated a substantial plot of land so the facility could stand next to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. This could well be the facility of the future.
