The University of Nebraska-Lincoln offers four scholarship programs for those seeking a criminal justice degree. Students with a 3.0 and above grade point average (GPA) and financial need may apply for the Douglas Family Scholarships. Only Nebraska residents will be considered for this program. The Jeff Marshall Memorial Scholarship focuses on students intending to work in the criminal justice public sector. Students must have top-notch grades to be considered. The Joe Carroll Scholarship is offered to those already working in law enforcement who are seeking a criminal justice degree. Finally, the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Justice Education Fund awards scholarships to undergraduates and graduates who are completing research for their degrees.

Florida State University provides numerous annual scholarships for students in the criminology and criminal justice programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Junior and senior undergraduates can apply for the Frank A. and Lynn W. Baker scholarship. This award, which varies each year, is given to those specializing in corrections, law enforcement and security administration. Students must have a financial need to qualify. The Eugene and Rosalind Czajkoski Scholarship Fund, open to undergraduate and graduate students, requires students to submit a 1,500 to 2,000 word essay detailing an interest in criminology as it relates to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. For those who want to work for a small police department upon graduation, the Relgalf Scholarship awards applicants who are current law enforcement officers for departments of less than 21 officers or those on a career path to becoming a police officer. Recipients receive full tuition and living expenses for four years. Scholarship money must be repaid if the award recipient doesn't join a police department upon graduation.

The Department of Criminal Justice at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota offers a variety of scholarships for its students, with awards in the $500 to $1,000 range. The Arvid Hansen Scholarship awards $500 to criminal justice and sociology majors in their junior or senior year. A 3.0 GPA and financial need is required to apply. The Caldecott Scholarship offers $1,000 to criminal justice majors with an interest in law school, financial need, leadership qualities and a minimum GPA of 3.25. For female undergraduates, $1,000 is offered as part of the Kimberly Ann Ritsche Scholarship. Applicants must show a devotion to physical fitness, a positive influence and respect for others and have a minimum GPA of 3.25. The Criminal Justice Scholarship of $1,000 is available to criminal justice majors in their junior or senior year. However, those in their final semester are ineligible for this award. An overall 3.0 GPA and a 3.25 major GPA is required. Students must demonstrate community service involvement, as well as an interest in risk management and insurance studies with criminal justice or insurance classes finished.

Those attending the University of Louisiana-Lafayette's criminal justice program may qualify for the Louisiana Sheriff's Association Scholarship. This one-time award is offered to high school seniors who score over 21 on their ACT (college entrance exam) and are going to study criminal justice in college. This scholarship, as administered by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department, allows the university's criminal justice faculty to select the winner. Other sheriff's offices may administer the scholarship differently. The Sally Lawrence McKissack Scholarship awards $500 annually for one semester. Applicants must be entering their junior year, have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and be a United States citizen.
