The American Association for Candy Technologists, or AACT, is an organization designed to encourage and advance improvements in the candy industry. Candy makers created the AACT in 1947 because of their interest in having a technology organization that would address ways to improve candy-making technology and address problems such as dull, sticky and dark candy. AACT offers scholarships to freshmen, sophomore and juniors enrolled in a North American four-year college. Applicants need to demonstrate an interest in candy technology, major in food science, biology, chemistry or a related degree, and have a 3.0 GPA. Provide information on the demonstrated interest in candy through work study, research and formal study activities. Download the application for the AACT scholarship from the AACT website. Accepted applicants receive $5,000.
