Tuition Grants for Teachers

A teacher's education isn't over once he's reached the classroom. Many teachers decide to further their education or keep up their skills by pursuing advanced coursework. Some states even require that a teacher take a mandatory amount of college courses each year as part of a professional development program. Luckily, a variety of scholarships and tuition grants are available to current teachers.
  1. NCTM Mathematics Course Work Scholarships

    • The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) provides tuition grants for teachers who want a better understanding of mathematics. NCTM Mathematics Course Work Scholarships are awarded in amounts up to $2,000. To be eligible, a candidate must teach preschool, kindergarten or grades 1-5. In addition, a teacher must be an NCTM member or teach at a school that has an institutional membership. The applicant must also have been teaching mathematics for a minimum of three years. These scholarships will fund professional development in math only. The annual deadline for application is Nov. 12. Prospective applicants should visit the NCTM website for more information.
