How do I Take the TOEFL Test in Toronto?

The TOEFL test measures a student's ability to succeed at an higher academic institution in an English-speaking country. It has been taken by over 24 million people, and it is accepted in over 130 by more than 7,500 agencies, colleges, and institutions. Many of the TOEFL testing sites now offer the Internet-based TOEFL exam, also known as the TOEFL iBT test. Toronto is one such site.

      Visit the website of the Educational Testing Service's TOEFL exam. Click the "Choose Your Location" button in the middle of the page. Select Canada from the drop-down menu on the next page, then choose Ontario as your province. Scroll down to find the dates when at the TOEFL exam is offered in Toronto. Choose the date you want to take the exam.

      Choose "Register Online for the Internet-based Test" located above the list of cities in Ontario offering the TOEFL exam. Register online to take the TOEFL exam by creating a user profile. You can pay for the exam ($200 CAD$) as well as designate who will receive your TOEFL scores online. You can also complete your registration by mail or by phone. (Call 1-800-468-6335 or 1-443-751-4862.) First complete the registration form, available on the ETS TOEFL website.

      Bring your valid identification and registration confirmation and number with you to the testing site on the day of the exam. Arrive thirty minutes before the exam is to begin.
