The SAT Reasoning Test is the most popular standardized test for college admissions in the United States. College Board, a non-profit educational organization, administers SAT tests every few weeks in locations all across the country. The test assesses a student's ability to analyze and solve problems necessary for college education. There are three sections for the main test: Mathematics, Critical Reading and Writing. Each section has a maximum of 800 points, for a total of 2400.

Add one point for each correct answer in a section.

Subtract one-fourth of a point for each incorrect answer. Don't subtract any points for incorrect free-response answers in the math section, or from multiple choice questions you didn't answer.

Add the totals from the Writing, Mathematics and Critical Readings sections. This is your overall SAT score.
