What Is the Meaning of TAKS?

Significance

• The TAKS test is utilized to assess each student's abilities in math, reading, writing, social studies and science.

Time Frame

• The TAKS test came into existence in 2003, replacing a prior standardized test called the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills.

Function

• Seniors in Texas high schools are required to pass their TAKS tests as a prerequisite of graduation. They are given five chances to pass it.
