Obtain a list of the main testing subjects and a list of the individual topics in each of the five main test areas.
Start studying the main subjects. Begin with your weakest subjects first. When you are comfortable with your knowledge level in those, move on to your stronger subjects.
Find your weakest topics in each main subject. If you find that in verbal, you are strong in synonyms and antonyms but not in logic and verbal classifications, make a note.
Prepare a list of all your individual topic weaknesses.
Study the individual topics. Spend extra time studying the specific topics until you obtain a comfortable level of knowledge in all topics.
Quiz yourself. When you feel comfortable with your knowledge level in all five areas, give yourself a quick quiz to double-check for weak areas.
Take a practice exam. Many HSPT practice exams are offered on the Internet.
Go over the questions you answered incorrectly. Go back to your study materials and study the topic again.
Get a good night's sleep. Testing is stressful so be sure to get plenty of rest the night before.
