What is a pass fail grading system?

In a "pass or fail" (P/F) grading system students do not receive letter grades; instead their class work are evaluated "Pass" or "Fail".

* Pass(P) : Indicates satisfactory completion to meet the requirement

* Fail ( F ) : Student fail to fulfill academic expectation and does not earn credit

Reasons for introducing :

- Provide more flexibility of students when selecting courses by creating less pressure regarding grades

- Allow student explore subjects outside their usual focus with reduced risk, thus encouraging interdisciplinary studies

- Reduce stress as some student struggle with competitive grading

- Promote learning for enjoyment or knowledge rather than solely for marks.
