Developed by Marcela Summerville, the Spanish Workshops for Children incorporates storytelling, music, culture, movement and games into traditional education methods to help children assimilate the Spanish language. The program hosts two workshops in Rosemont and Blue Bell. Programs last anywhere from 18 to 36 months are designed for children 3 to 5 years old. Located in Pittsburgh, La Escuelita Arcoiris provides Spanish language tutoring and immersion programs for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Five different classes are available for enrollment, each designed for a specific age group and varying in duration and start time. Music, cooking, visual art and storytelling are incorporated into the curriculum at La Escuelita Arcoiris Parents interested in enrolling their children at the school must complete an online application. Needs-based scholarship applications are also available.
The Team Tutor company offers Spanish language education for children in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Although Team Tutor typically offers one-on-one instruction for children, the Spanish-language program is taught in classes comprised of 10 students. The "Little Ones" program is designed for pre-kindergarten- and kindergarten-aged students and incorporates storytelling, music and visual arts into its curriculum. The "Big Kids" program is for children in first and second grades and uses teaching tools similar to those in the "Little Ones" program. Located in Lancaster, Your Language Connection offers Spanish-language camps for children ages 4 and older. Children enrolled in the program learn basic Spanish vocabulary while completing crafts projects, learning Spanish songs and practicing short dialogues. The program is three hours long and is offered for one week in June at the Jewish Community Center in Lancaster. Parents can enroll their children in the program through the official website.
