"Novus ordo seclorum," taken from Virgil's Aeneid, in Latin means "new order of the ages" and is typically translated as "a new order for the ages" and is often used to refer to a new era or beginning. It is commonly associated with the phrase "Annuit cœptis," which appears on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States and means "He (God) has favored our undertakings".
