Make name tags to help remember names of new preschool students. Write their names on index cards and punch holes in the top corners. Tie a piece of string between the holes, long enough for the students to slip the tags over their heads. Let each student decorate her own name tag with crayons or paint.
Take a picture of each student on the first day of school doing something fun. After taking the pictures, ask the students to tell you what they enjoyed about the first day of school. Create a bulletin board with the pictures and the students' answers to the question.
Give each student a sheet of paper and crayons to draw a picture about what they remember about their first day of school and all the things they did. Send first-day-of-school drawings home with students to share with their families.
