How to Write a Job Description for a Nursery School Board

The school board of a nursery school includes several positions, including the executive director and committee heads. Each committee usually has several members, which are typically parents of children who attend the nursery school. Each nursery school board position would have a slightly different job description, but there are several things that should be included in all the descriptions.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide which position on the nursery school board you need to write a description for. Typically, this will be either the director or a committee head, but other types of positions may be available, as well.

    • 2

List the responsibilities for the position. Every position will include specific responsibilities. For example, the head of the fundraising committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing events that help raise money for the nursery school. The fundraising committee head would also be responsible for the members of the committee. These responsibilities should be listed in the job description. (reference 1)

    • 3

Include the required education needed for the position. Typically, the director of the nursery school board will need more education than other positions, such as committee heads. Include the minimum education required, as well as the preferred education for the position.

    • 4

Add a section for required experience. The description should include the experience that's necessary to successfully fulfill the requirements of the open nursery school board position. This section should detail the type of experience needed and the number of years required. For example, the head of the marketing committee might require one to two years working in either a professional sales or marketing position.
