Childhood Education Grants

The employment outlook for preschool and kindergarten teachers remains positive at least until 2018, according to projections by the U.S. Department of Labor. In addition to their salaries, early childhood education teachers, education students and other child care workers can apply for grants to support their classroom activities and educational pursuits. Private foundations, industry groups and government agencies provide funding for preschool and kindergarten educators.
  1. 3M Ingenuity Grants

    • The 3M Foundation awards nearly 200 grants to teachers annually totaling nearly a half million dollars. Kindergarten teachers can apply for 3M Ingenuity Grants to support classroom projects that enhance students' understanding of math and science. The 3M Corp. limits grants to communities in the states where it has facilities. In 2010, communities in 21 states received grants. Teachers and groups received up to $3,500 each. Applicants must complete an eligibility quiz on the 3M Foundations website to determine if their projects are suitable for funding.
