Daycare Newsletter Ideas

Newsletters are helpful to condense information into a quick and informative update of what is going on in an organization. Newsletters for parents are very useful for daycare schools, so parents may know of any changes in the teaching environment, who the new teachers are and to keep them informed of children's accomplishments.
  1. Keep It Simple

    • Even though some newsletters that are released to large email chains have a lot of design on them, you can design simple day care newsletters that are solely going out to the parents of the children and the administrators who work at the day care. Simply type information up and format on Microsoft Word, dividing the text into columns or leaving it all as one page. Make type face large, and bold important information. As you publish the newsletter more often, you will get better at designing and laying it out, allowing you to make it have more sections, graphics and colors, adding to the overall professionalism of it.

    Arts Page

    • Devote a page of the newsletter to the art that kids in the daycare have created while in school. This art can be scanned in on a scanner or can be photographed with a digital camera and imported into the layout of the newsletter itself. An arts page will show off what the kids are doing at the day care and how they are excelling creatively due to their time at the day care. The photos and descriptions of each child's piece of art will also allow a number of people to see these young geniuses' artistic talents without visiting the classroom. The art section in the newsletter also helps to sell the day care as a place where young students can have artistic freedom.

    Curriculum Announcements

    • In each issue of the newsletter, inform parents and administrators as to what students will be learning in class each week. This information will allow them to prepare their kids for different educational experiences before the week of activities begins, as well as inform them as to what exactly is going on at the school. It will also allow parents to have forewarning if something is being done that they don't feel comfortable with or if their child has an allergy or an aversion to a certain thing that will be going on in the daycare. A weekly activity list will help to alleviate any problems between the adult and the day care before they actually occur.
