Draw a large capital letter "A" on an index card. Draw a large lowercase "a" on the back of the card. Repeat using all the letters of the alphabet and the remaining index cards. To make flashcards without using index cards, proceed to Step 2.
Fold a sheet of 8 ½" x 11" white paper in half. Fold it in half again. Unfold. Your paper will be divided by fold lines into four rectangles.
Draw a capital "A" in the top left rectangle and a lowercase "a" in the top right rectangle with a marker. Draw a capital "B" in the lower left rectangle and a lowercase "b" in the lower left rectangle. Cut along the fold that divides the upper and lower rectangles.
Fold and glue the rectangles with "A" and "a" back to back. Repeat using the "B" and "b" rectangles. You will have two flashcards, one displaying "A" and "a" and the other displaying "B" and "b."
Repeat steps 2-4 by writing the remaining letters of the alphabet on the paper rectangles.
Print free, ready-made alphabet flashcards from the ABCTeach or First-School websites. Select the flashcards you wish to print. In your web browser, choose "File" and "Print."
Cut out the printed flashcards using scissors. For durability, glue each page onto a cereal box. Let the glue dry and cut out the flashcards.
